“A very timely, invaluable book for any parent raising a child with sensory processing disorder. The tools suggested by Rebecca Duvall Scott will empower families to restore health to their children, beginning with dietary changes that are foundational for healing the gut, immune and neurological systems. The blueprint outlined in this book has the amazing potential to allow many struggling children to lead normal, productive, healthy lives. A must read!”

“Just as the effects of wind can be seen without ever seeing the wind itself, so sensory processing disorder (SPD) presents in classrooms … we can’t see the disorder, but we see its effects through the seekers and avoiders who enter our room each year. Rebecca Duvall Scott’s moving and honest memoir offers strategies not just for caregivers of children with SPD, but also for educators who desire to help support students with nervous system dysfunction like SPD and other pervasive developmental disorders. After trying many of the strategies in my kindergarten classroom, I saw behaviors begin to normalize and students become more ready to learn. This book shares information that could benefit veteran and new teachers alike.”

I always wanted to be a published author, but it was my Christian historical fiction series I had in mind. God had a different plan to get me started, however! He gave me a wonderful husband and two beautiful children, one with special needs, and after 7 years of intense intervention and healing following my son's sensory processing disorder diagnosis, I felt I had to write this self-help book to pay the knowledge forward. Since its publication, I have enjoyed doing presentations and hands-on workshops for global educators, counselors, teachers, social workers, parents and more. I am currently working on a book about marriage with that extra special-need layer taken into account.
